WGIM (EAME) Gains Inspection Body Accreditation

Recognition for WGIM's Technical Competencies

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) has awarded our EAME region Type C Inspection Body accreditation, in accordance with the international standard ISO 17020 (General Criteria for the Operation of Various Types of Bodies Performing Inspection).

ISO 17020 specifically evaluates the technical competency of an inspection body and accreditation to this standard demonstrates that a rigorous third party validation has been performed on the inspection management capability of an organisation.

The schedule of accreditation provided to WGIM's EAME regional office is extensive and is applicable to the following asset types and systems:

  • Plant, Systems and Structures associated with On-shore and Offshore Assets
  • Major, Intermediate and Minor Pressure Systems and Process Vessels Pipelines and Subsea Structures
  • Weld Procedure Qualification
The inspection activities covered by the Type C schedule of accreditation have been developed to provide our client base with a full range of third party verified processes, directly applicable to the provision of full asset Inspection Management services:
  • Engineering Assessment of Integrity
  • In-Service Inspection
  • Inspection of Repairs and Modifications
  • Preparation and Certification of Written Schemes of Examination
