NACE Conference and Exposition, March 2009

IONIK Consulting was very well represented at this year's Annual National Association of Corrosion Engineers Conference and Exposition held 22-26 March in Atlanta, Georgia, the site of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.  This five day event drew 5,000 corrosion professionals from around the world.  Technical papers presented at the Conference included:

  • "Corrosion and Integrity Management", by Dr John Marsh, Principal Corrosion Engineer;
  • "Effects of Flow on Corrosion Prediction", by Dr Binder Singh, Principal Corrosion Engineer; and
  • "Cathodic Protection in Harsh Environments", by Mr Bill Jamrok, Senior Corrosion Engineer.

All the papers were very well received and underscored IONIK Consulting's commitment to being leaders in this industry.

In addition to presenting technical papers at NACE 2009, IONIK Consulting London Business Manager, George Winning, served as Symposia chair for the "Top of the Line Corrosion Inhibition in Deepwater and Oil and Gas Production", as well as chair for STG 61 "Inhibition - Corrosion and Scaling".

IONIK Consulting will be well represented this coming year and at NACE Corrosion 2010 as George Winning will chair the "Corrosion Prediction" symposia as well as serve as vice chair for STG 08 "Corrosion Management".  IONIK Consulting Senior Corrosion Engineer, Bill Jamrok, was appointed to serve as chair for the "Application Review Subcommittee" and to vice chair a new committee tasked with combining the offshore structure standards SPO176 and SPO387 into a new document for ISO acceptance.

Looking forward to 2011, George Winning will serve as chair for STG 08 and Bill Jamrok will serve as vice chair for the STG 30 symposium on "Oil and Gas Production - Cathodic Protection" in addition to their other NACE appointments.

It was a great event and we are all looking forward to next year's conference in San Antonio, Texas!
