IONIK Consulting (Houston) to Develop Integrity Management Plan

BP Trinidad & Tobago

IONIK Consulting, ("IONIK"), part of international energy services company John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Group") www.woodgroup.com, has been awarded a contract by BP Trinidad and Tobago ("BPTT") to carry out a risk assessment and develop an integrity management plan for 12 interfield pipelines and laterals (11 offshore and one onshore). The work began in August and is expected to last for three months.

The project includes the integration and analysis of all existing information related to the 12 pipelines. Utilizing IONIK's proprietary data management and risk assessment software, the current condition of these interfield pipelines will be determined and ranked according to their assessed risk. Furthermore, IONIK will develop an inspection plan that sets out a recommended inspection frequency per pipeline, which will consider new and non-conventional technologies as well as BP's own internal practices and standards, in a reliable, efficient and optimized manner.

"IONIK's specialist experience is in the design and management of lifecycle assurance programs that improve the long-term performance of critical assets," explained Tim Sylvester, Vice President Americas for IONIK Consulting. "Much of the global energy infrastructure is being stretched to its limits, with production at capacity, pushing aging assets to meet their original design life and operating envelopes. IONIK's knowledge and technology will help BPTT to optimize the maintenance and inspection of these critical facilities, which is crucial in ensuring safe and reliable long-term operation of the pipelines."
